I had a thumbnail from a project 4 yrs ago that I decided would be the quickest to render of all my sketches. Originally it was a sketch for a pulp art style illo of a voodoo woman pouring blood on a statue and bringing it to life.Joe Slucherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03207126311688232266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5734322865929987142.post-78104978825608095732010-06-24T12:29:56.130-04:002010-06-24T12:29:56.130-04:00I really like the monster but the woman's ches...I really like the monster but the woman's chest seems a little stangely shaped to me. I do not know if you are looking for a critique, but something about the shading of them makes them look a little "added on" (and one is bigger than the other). That highlight is leaping out at me too and makes me focus there.

Since you are discussing prints for GenCon, I thought I would mention it. Her face and hand are so nicely done but my eye goes to her chest which is a little unflattering to her figure. I think altering the shading would be just the thing.Christina Waldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11806739687845098075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5734322865929987142.post-79400448584266694552010-06-24T12:03:16.977-04:002010-06-24T12:03:16.977-04:00Very intriguing. The first thing I noticed (once I was done saying, "gross." :P) was the relationship between the two figures. What's this from/for?Justin D. You've also implied a lot about a backstory —or at least an odd symbiotic relationship that makes the scene intriguing. The warm vs. cool light situation is great too.

I think it would be fun to see an entire series based on mythologies or legends outside of Europe: Menehunes, gremlins, American folk tales, nautical lore, etc.Chuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06885271094483228148noreply@blogger.com
