Chocolate...

A model of a chocolate molecule done in 3DS Max.

  1. The colors are strangely reminiscent of the Godiva foil packaging...hmmm

  2. Tom,
Very tasty. I like the blur in distant orbs - gives it a good sense of depth.
I like John's observation - wouldn't it be cool to actually cast this model of chocolate IN chocolate and put the colored foil around it. A nerdy gift but I would buy one.
I actually have several clay images that I was intending to take molds from and cast in chocolate but never learned how to make chocolate - so I abandoned the project.

  3. David, great idea for self-promo -especially for Valentine's Day (Chocolate Hartz!).
You don't need to make chocolate —you buy it in a block and melt it in a double-boiler. Add mint flavor and maybe some parafin wax and spoon it into a mold. It's not hard, just time-consuming.

There's probably someone in town who could make a vacuum-form mold of whatever you'd sculpt. You should talk to someone in the toy industry —like Tim Conroy or Christina's husband Troy.

  4. While looking the molecular structure up on the web I also found the chocolate molecule available in silver as earrings. :)
