Hi guys- here are some sketches I did at the Dr. Sketchy session at the Leaping Lizard Gallery in Covington, thought it would be lovely to post them here... I hope others share some too! I barely saw anyone else's work when I was there.
it was fun- the model was dressed in costume, the theme for this one was June Cleaver and they played music from the era while we sketched. it was a few 5 min warm ups (with opportunity for action sketching as well) then mainly 10-15-20 minute poses, there was a bar on hand and also they would stop to have quick draw contests occassionally- Brian won one and David won one (you get a free drink if you win). It was also nice to meet some other artists that i hadn't met before! I am definitely going again.
Awesome! Thank you Darcy and all of you that came to Dr. Sketchy Cincinnati. It was so great meeting you, Christina, Brian, and Daniel. It's great that the word is getting out. I really hope you all do come back for the December Dr. Sketchy. Be sure to check out there Myspace for pictures and futures things to come. :)
Cute! I like the middle one the best!
ReplyDeletethanks Chuck!
ReplyDeleteI will scan a couple of mine when I get a chance. I am in deadline crisis mode at the moment...
ReplyDeleteThese are great by the way. I had not seem the middle one...
ReplyDeleteI like 'em all - partial to the first two though...was it a fun session or strange? Not mutually exclusive now that I think about it.

ReplyDeleteAnd I really like your middle one, too. Such festival colors, and the lines of color give her all the setting she needs.
ReplyDeleteMy prize came in the form of Wild Turkey on the rocks, which escaped out the door, hissing at the smell of hunters.
