Clay Inspirations

I was building a macquette for a piece of reference and got this cool group of shapes from the paper I was building on. I made an arch so I could shine light on it and take a photograph so I can get the lighting I need for a painting. The larger slab was resting where the large blob is. I see so many cool ideas in this mess it makes me really excited.

  1. Oooo. Me like random patterns.

Didn't Leonardo da Vinci recommend that his students look into mold stains on plastered walls?

  3. I do that alot, Brian, but not just with mold stains, but shadows, stains, all kinds of things. I don't think I've had artist's block in awhile because of that.

  4. Cool! Are you going to use this reference for a painting or a drawing?

  5. A painting. It'll be done this week, hopefully.
