We pitch it as a compromise

There’s been a big to-do about the location of the Hamilton County Board of Elections. Republicans on the board want to move the location of the BOE to a suburb of Cincinnati, Mt. Airy, where they’ll consolidate space in a government building with the BOE and other county offices. The BOE is currently located downtown, and Democrats say that by moving the location away from downtown, the poor and those without cars will have a harder time voting. Since Hamilton County — and especially the areas of the county that compromise downtown Cincinnati — went Democrat in the last two presidential elections, Republicans are eager to move the BOE to a new location. Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and others are seeking to compromise by offering free building use downtown for the BOE. I thought it’d be fun to imagine what kind of compromise the Republicans might come up with.
