Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Movie

I just got confirmation that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Movie, Turtles Forever, will be playing on Saturday Nov 21st at 10:00 am on the CW.

I did storyboarding on that movie, hence why I am psyched!

I am going to soon be uploading turtles board samples to my website to celebrate, I am so glad to have had the chance to participate in the show!

Road Trip! Windsor McCay Exhibit in Columbus

There is a cool exhibit of Windsor McCay's work in Columbus at the OSU Cartoon Museum.

John Canemaker is doing a lecture on McCay's work on November 3rd at 7 PM. Go to the site for details. McCay is best known for creating Little Nemo in Slumberland.

The exhibit is up until December 31st. Well worth the road trip I'd say!

Factoid I did not know: McCay created his first comic strip for the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1903 called A Tale of the Jungle Imps by Felix Fiddle.

Jerry Dowling: Another Twelve Way Comic Sneak Peek

Just in time for the Day of the Dead, here is another page from the comic anthology by Jerry featuring a variety of zombie caricatures. Jerry's comment about the piece: "Shows what effect Marge Schott and Mike Brown have had on my brain. And those two zombies are coming in the next couple drawings."

Try to guess who each celebrity zombie used to be in life... A fresh, delicious brain for the winner!

Twelve Way with Cheese Teaser

As many of you know, a bunch of us are working on a Cincinnati Comic anthology.

This is the cover so far. Once all the interior art is finished, the little squares will be filled on the front of the paper. Many contributors to this blog are submitting work including Daryll Collins who did this cover. Dave Hartz posted some of his story a couple weeks ago.

As the book takes shape, we will post more teasers here. After I get out from under my current mountain of deadlines, I will finish some of my half-sketched story and post some of it.

Below are Tim, Viki, Jerry, myself, and Dave at our last get together to go over the content we are contributing.

We will post a pic of the whole crew hopefully in the next teaser.

In other book news, I noticed that Loren Long's new book Otis is #6 on the New York Times Bestsellers in Children's Picture Books. As far as I can tell, he will not be at BBTB, but his appearances are listed on his website.
