My stuff is scattered all over the web. I don't upload everything to my DA portfolio or DA account. Here's where I did a small study then 11x17 painting and then final touches in photoshop. http://joeslucher.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2jwm2r
If you look at this image, there's a female dwarf oil painting http://www.joeslucher.com/Images/portraits.jpg that later turned into this http://joeslucher.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2apjqq
Nice, in the first image, it's interesting how this developed. I like how you pushed the focus in the bottom left and right corners of the frame of reference. Very Baroque of you with all the detail in the armour and the colour palette.
The development of the dwarf is nice. I like how you polish it up. This is what I mean about loosening up. There is definitely a painterly, loose quality to your mixed media images that is not present in your others. That dwarfette :P is very nice. I really enjoy the way the light defines the planes of her face. That brow is impressive. Nice reflective light.
Nice. Looks like we're both barking up the same trees. Maybe we'll end up working on a book together.
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome. Your work is really nice, man. It's digital, right?
ReplyDeleteYeah my work is pretty much digital. Sometimes they begin as oil paintings. Patience usually wears then though.
ReplyDeletecool, which ones start as oil paintings? Do you have a site or place I can see some of those?
