Quickie Birthday Card Drawing

Here is a quick little colorized ink sketch I did for my nephew for his birthday card (it was quicker to draw than a knight-which he is into now). I would probably do some things different, but I only spent an hour or so on it and have little time.

Although, to truly make a 9 year old like it, it would have been two battling dragons with a lot of blood. His mom would not let him have it though... Daryll is right about most cards for boys having a high lame factor, which is why I made one.

  1. Your nephew should really love his birthday card, Christina.

I remember how difficult it was for me to find cool birthday cards for my nephews when they were younger. I would usually end up drawing some character throwing up or farting.

    Always a hit.

  2. Best aunt ever!
He's great —your nephew is lucky!

  3. Thanks! Daryll, it sounds like your cards are much more to a nephew's liking.

Chuck, I think your daughters are luckier for all the cool bithday drawings you have done for them. I have not been nearly as generous :)

  4. Haha. All I can say is that they are my daughters, not nieces. Anyway, it's all fun, right?

Speaking of generosity, thanks for the huge amount of time you've spent on this blog. You've gone waaaay above and beyond the call of duty.

  5. Oh, and get rid of the tag that says "Lame Birthday Cards".
