KENWOOD THEATRE PRINTED ART EXHIBITION
It has come my attention that an old friend of mine wants to display art in the Kenwood Theatre. It would make the theatre looks nice, yes, and it could afford the illustrators that participate a means to sell their art in a print form.
BY NO MEANS SHOULD ONE LOOK AT THIS LIKE A BIG MONEY MAKER
It will put your art on display for those who attend the theatre to see.
I have also checked with a giclee printing company to see about making affordable prints for this effort. Giclee printing does have its initial costs. The initial scan for print production is a cost as the color correction for the first print, making the first print the most costly. But once the first print is created of an image, the following costs are much less. Depending on the size of the art. A first print would range in cost from $60.00 - $70.00 and more. Later prints are significantly less, like $25.00 - $35.00.
FrameUSA on Northland Boulevard would offer one the best price for framing, especially if one uses a standard frame size and can put the frame together themself.
In the end, my guess is your first print and your frame would put your initial cost at or around $75.00 - $90.00.
Selling the prints would be handled by the Kenwood Theatre. They would handle to bookkeeping and pay the sales taxes. They would take a 10% - 15% fee to cover the accounting and insurance costs of hanging the art.
The art on display should be selected with the idea of selling the art to the public.
A committee of three artists from our lunch group will decide if the art is right for the venture. I will serve on the committee with Linda Howard-Bittner and one more person yet to be determined.
The should not be perceived as a big money making venture, but it should be taken seriously as a retail opportunity and thus the art being right for the venue.

Great American (downtown/new building) needs a part-time Graphic Designer to work 4 hours a day (20 hours a week), preferably in morning hours. 'FINAL EPIC TALES' COVER LAYOUT
Here's the final layout for the 'Epic Tales' adventure series, folks. Enjoy :)
Fall 2011-Covers
I recently finished up 2 books and they will be out in Fall. Cannot show any interiors yet, but here are the covers:
The Wild Life of Elk published for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Forest Service.
It is a book about elk for children and is pretty thorough.
Annie Jump Cannon, Astronomer published by Pelican. This is my first biography. I find these historical books to be very challenging because of the research.
Also, Habitat Spy is out. I will be at Blue Marble May 14th for a lunch party and signing! Hope to see you all there!

Calendar Cover
Hey, guys, I'm working on a calendar for 2012. This is the cover sketch I came up with. Any feedback would be great. I also uploaded a more detailed sketch in which I tweaked some tangents and laid in some text to hold the spot till I find the type-face I want. This is a really fun project :) Can't wait to see how the months are gonna turn out :)

Cuban Missile
I drew this poster of Reds lefty phenom Aroldis Chapman last week. He 's going to be signing stuff at Sports Gallery tonight at 6:30. Hopefully, fans will buy this and have him sign it.
