Monsters of Slatt's

Man, my juices got going, which was cool, because I've gotta get into Monster Mode here shortly for some articles for TAG.

This is a quick sketch of a dragon inspired by a pic from a regular Facebook posting from the Zoo. Monitours are so cool. The blue one was the coolest. This is just a baby :P Still has its egg horn and everything. Judging from the bone, probably about 3 1/2' long.

  1. I like the face on the left. Very expressive.

  2. Both of these guys are people whose emotions have transformed them into animals with man characteristics. I would like to explore the boar more, make him more twisted. I like the idea of a predatory person whose greed and excessive cunning have changed him into some sort of blasted form combining a man and an owl. Hunch-backed, bulbous gleaming eyes, long, taloned arms. Drool pours from his beak like a rancid fountain. I could just see it sitting on a branch above a campfire, watching with predatory hunger the company below him. Wings too small to fly, broken and useless, twitch with barely contained excitement. Talons gripping the branch so tightly that they score the bark in ten, long, jagged weals.

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks, everyone. I like the dragon, but I feel like he's still too stiff. The reference was sitting right there in front of me. I'll turn it off and draw another, this time only using it to define the areas that need the precision. His frilly bits need more character. I'd also like to exaggerate his scales, make them larger, maybe give him some kind of cat-fish-like whiskers/feelers :P
