Black Friday Beer and Art Show and Beer, Art, and Breweriana Blow Out

On “Final Friday” November 28th from 6P-10P local artists, including Jim Effler, will host a free show of original art. The BDCURC (www.otrbrewerydistrict.org) and artist/tap room manager Tank Mansfield recruited local artists and photographers to render brewing heritage and neighborhood scenes to raise money for the BDCURC’s development efforts. Original watercolor and oil paintings, illustrations, framed and unframed photographs, and limited edition prints of the newest neighborhood mural will all be available for purchase. Artist Jim Effler (www.jimeffler.com) applies his realistic style (with a touch of impressionism) to local scenes, including beer posters and labels for local breweries and festivals. He will have a selection of original pieces as well as prints of his most popular event posters and beer labels. Other artists include Patrick Browne, Ray Burt, Rodney Eggleston, Ray Hassard, Stuart Hyde, Tank Mansfield, Chad Marchese, Kevin O’Neil, John Ritter, Clarence Sekeraks, Larry Sparks, Anthony Stollings, Christina Wald, Dann Woellert, and Kay Worz.

Classes: Jim Effler Teaching at Women's Art Club

 Jim Effler will teach his approach to painting using photos manipulated in Photoshop to follow classical principles such as establishing shadow and light, match colors, block in areas of color, and more. Part of the time you will be using Photoshop, but the majority of the time will be painting, and the end product will be a painting.

Students will need oil painting supplies and a canvas, specifics to come later.A laptop with Photoshop is recommended, but arrangements can be made if you do not have them. A digital camera is optional; printer and paper will be provided.

Illustrator News: Jim Effler Unveiling New Moerlein Label Art

Come out and celebrate with us as we tap our Silver Medal Winning Emancipator! The Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. John the Baptist who serve at St. Francis Seraph and throughout the Mid-West will be on hand to help tap the beer they blessed back in Dec!! 

Also in house will be artist Jim Effler to unveil his new Emancipator art work and he'll be signing copies as well!! The festivities are from 9pm -11pm, but make sure to come early, have a pint, and take one of the Brewery Tours at 5pm or 7pm.

Nationally know artist and illustrator Jim Effler gives us a vivid look into his style and technique for creating the beautiful images we have become accustomed to seeing around our town. This part demo, part studio workshop will help you expand your skill and approach to your portrait work and show you unique techniques for a successful painting.
