Interesting Illustrator Success Story

I recently listened to this interview again after recommending it to a friend. I am not sure if I posted a link before, but it is worth doing again if I did.

It is an NPR interview (on their show The Story) with illustrator Noah Z. Jones, the creator of the Disney animated series Fish Hooks: http://thestory.org/archive/the_story_1149_Lennart_Dahlgren.mp3/view

The description from the site: Until recently, Noah Z. Jones was a freelance illustrator and stay-at-home dad living on the coast of Maine. One day he created a website, Almost Naked Animals. Someone at Disney got turned on to Noah’s work. Soon, Noah and his family moved to L.A. where Noah could work full time on a new animated series. 

It is very inspiring. When you listen, start halfway through. The interview is at the midway point of the show.

Inspirational Artists: Richard Estes

This is a good way to start the year, talking about our favorite artists.

In the vein of urban landscapes, but not futuristic ones, is Richard Estes. I am sure you have all seen his paintings, but I have really been getting into his work lately. Such amazing stuff... I am in awe when I look at them.
