After a Slight Delay...

Well, I had finished a monster project and started my cover portfolio, only to be dragged back into the former commission. Now I am done and back on track. Here's the final back cover sketch prior to reference, as well as the final rough layout of the front and back covers.

Thanks,

J.D.R.

P.S. I'm pretty psyched. The back cover image employs the 'Windmill Principle' James Gurney spoke of in his investigation of tonal relationships in 'Imaginative Realism'.

Sketch for New Painting

In honor of Father's Day, here is the sketch for a large painting I am working on called: "Peter and Flopsy Plus Eight". I had first planned to do this on a 16" by 20" piece of masonite, but wussed out and am doing it on cold press illustration board (acrylic on gesso) instead. Ever since I started this sketch, I have seen a lot of rabbits around in the yard, biking, eating my garden, etc. I am not sure what this means, but it is a little odd...

Animal Rescue Art Project

Here is the image I did for the Animal Rescue Art Project.

The show is February 14th at Loveland Art Studios.

There were so many orange cats at the factory that I painted 3 of them on 4" X 4" squares and mounted them on board. I have a soft spot for orange tigers.
