The early reader version of
Black Beauty I illustrated was released today. Yay! The book was really challenging with all the horses, costume, architecture, tack, etc. The story has a lot of sad parts but at least all is good in the end.
Here is my favorite spread. Fellow illustrators' lunch regular Dave Hartz was the model (for the cabbie-not the horse).
You did a great job on this book!! All those costumes and people-realistic-yikes, makes me tired just thinking about it...
ReplyDeleteThat's not David Hartz! Where's the laptop?!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it looks great, Christina —and horses are a challenge!
My daughter (or any young girl) would be all over this!
nice - very nice!

ReplyDeleteI love the variety of grays, Christina. They're very cold and rich.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I really like the shiny 3-D quality of the horse on the cover and what a great model!
ReplyDeleteSo fabulous! the kids love this book. Big Cats however is still their all time favorite :-)
