I thought I would post this, I don't know if it is still available or not. This is the piece (I am calling it "Lazervision") I put in the Cincinnati Rollergirls Art show, the show ends on Aug 1st. It is a new style that I am developing, I like that it's kind of crazier and messier than my digital work. I am interested in hearing what you guys think of it too.
A very nice drawing; it adds a whole new rendering dimension to your great design work...I always love the surprises that happen with loose washes. That said, I would like to see the figure (possibly just some part if it) separated if only slightly by color, line or tone from the background - just a thought. A combination of this and your digital, punchy technique would also be cool to explore. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteDarcy- this is a nice contrast to your design work.
ReplyDeleteNice pencil technique too. It's always good to branch out as an artist.
Except for me! I'm like AC/DC. Don't ask me for a ballad, a country tinged tune or a polka.
Although some Wednesday lunch I'll shock all of you with some of the stuff/approaches I had to undertake while in college!
This is really cool! I hope the show turned out well for CRG.
ReplyDeletethanks guys- I did another one where I used pastel to bring some stuff forward and that one does pop better. I couldnt sleep last night because i thought of other ways i could try too- the digital idea is a good one too! Maybe one day ill do it, i just like having actual real original pieces that i can frame for now- I'll probably get over it though ha:) christina, yeah i wonder how it did, I haven't heard anything about it
