Manifest Gallery Portrait Workshop

 This looks amazing:

Four-day Portrait Drawing Workshop
March 10-13, 2012
| Public Demo and Q&A
Friday, March 16, 2012 6-10p.m.

[ Registration info here ]

In conjunction with a solo exhibit of Kassan's drawings at Manifest Gallery, the Brooklyn based artist will be offering two distinct studio experiences at Manifest's Drawing Center. An intensive four-day portrait drawing workshop continues Manifest's ongoing series of such courses instructed by prominent nationally known artist-instructors. The second offering, a more bite-sized opportunity for the general public, students, and artists alike will be a nearly four hour public demonstration the evening of Friday, March 16th, complete with wine and cheese reception and question and answer session.

Show opening is the 9th.

  1. yeah this gu is unreal...been looking at his stuff for a couple of years and have some of his teaching material.

  2. The show this Friday could be a great opportunity to meet him before signing up —if the spots don't get taken before then.

  3. How was the opening? I think Dave said he went?

  4. I went very early, so I didn't get to meet the artists.
The adjunct space had about a half-dozen excellent pieces by Kassan (I believe they were all b&w), including a drawing that was shown along with a step-by-step progression of how it was created.

The demo is this Friday. Should be great. I hope I can see at least some of it.

  5. We have friends coming to town so I will miss the demo. Bummed...

  6. Photos of the demo are here.
