My portrait of President Barack Obama

I think I made him a little too skinny, but whatever. I spent about 2 hours from start to finish one night after work on a 9x11 piece of canvas board working from a photo of Barack Obama standing in front of the capitol. I miss illustrator lunches for sure.
Later,
Gabe

  1. Nicely done! The monochromatic palette is really appealing.

    2 hours? Very impressive.

I hope you will be posting more!

  4. I know him too but 'hate' is such a strong word...I'll think of something.

  5. Ha. Monochromatic is the easiest for me since I'm somewhat red/green colorblind. I thought it was much later when it was when I finished it but looked up at the time and was just as surprised.

  6. That really is a good-looking portrait. In two hours, I'm sure I could create a very nice...pencil thumbnail sketch.
