Cool New Series of Illustrator Interviews

I know a couple illustrators around town follow Art Order and they just stared an interview series by Randy Gallegos (a great guy and an amazing illustrator).

Some great stuff! : http://theartorder.com/category/guest-writer/randy-gallegos/

It got me thinking that maybe we should do an interview series on this blog. What do you think?

  1. Thanks for starting the discussion, Christina. I think it's great to address the topic of the blog itself and how it's best used.

Personally, I'd like to do whatever encourages people to post as much excellent imagery as possible —everyone's best stuff, whether it's life drawing, sketches, video, pro-bono, commercial, self-directed —whatever.

Interviewing sounds like a lot of work for whomever is writing the interviews and might take effort away from what makes an illustration blog worth looking at —making great pictures. I love commentary and discussion along with the images, and I think we're already providing that. I like leaving it up to the individual to decide how much to say about his/her work.

I think it might be fun to start threads on "behind-the-scenes" stuff. Maybe a thread dedicated to photos of studio space or old artwork from old jobs.

  2. I like the idea of seeing different work spaces. Mine looks like a disaster right now.
