9 months in the making! And not because it took that long :P I was on the verge of giving it up after a huge mistake. But, after some cropping and a little time (an hour :P), I finished it :P Enjoy!
Justin, that is one lovely and ethereal image you've finally finished. An earlier version of that deer was the first thing you ever showed us at the Illustrators lunch, as I recall. By the way, where is my pipe-smoking, be-robed little hairy mammal Christmas card???

Thanks, Pam :) Boy, I can't slip anything past ya, can I? :P I'll have one for you, don't worry :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right, this was the first thing I showed you guys :P I didn't realize that. You've got a better memory than I do :P
I fixed the link :)
ReplyDeleteHave you looked at Mary GrandPre's pastel work?
A bunch of us saw her show a couple yeatrs ago. Definitely worth a look as you deverlop this style: http://marygrandpre.com/
Also, Pam, would be able to help me out with a model? I know you have people that help you with reference. I need a younger person, a girl, for a couple pieces I am working on.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Christina :) This woman's work is so awesome! I'm going to contact her about her colour usage. She's a wonderful painter. Thank you, again.
ReplyDeleteJustin, I don't think I can help you out with the young girl model, because my nieces who model for me all live in Dayton, and they are scheduled up to their eyeballs with sports. But I'm going up there this weekend: would you like me to take some photos for you? If so, could you sketch out what the pose would be, and what direction the light would come from? They are 15, 11 and 10 years old. If interested, please email me at pamdimages@yahoo.com.
